Strongly decreased shipping costs indicate a weakened global economy

The shipping costs for dry raw materials have dropped significantly in the last six months. This indicates a worsened prospective for the world economy. 

The Baltic Dry Index, an indicator for the shipping costs for raw materials like iron and coal, has dropped 47% since mid-2018. In the past 6 months, a trade war between the United States and China has been developed, where the two greatest world economies attack each other with raised import tariffs.
